Clean Turkey Burger Recipe

  • ¾ lb. ground turkey (extra lean)
  • ¼ cup uncooked quinoa
  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ cup chopped red onion
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • Dash of salt
  • Dash of pepper

Put water and quinoa in small pot. Bring to a boil, then cover and reduce to a simmer for about 13 minutes. Meanwhile, combine turkey, onion, and spices in a bowl. When quinoa is done, combine with the turkey mixture. Form turkey into patties (I made four, but depending on size, there could be more or less). Grill or cook the burgers on the stove as you would a regular hamburger.

To make your burger complete, you can eat it on a whole wheat bun (as clean as possible), top it with mustard, dill pickles, tomato, mushrooms, lettuce, and onion. Perfect for cookout season!
